Some pics which i took during the Apex Flagday.
A few of our members have wrote reflections to share about their experiences.

Through this second flag day, I realized that when you want something, you have to step forward and ask for it.
Not many people will automatically come to you and drop some coins into your tin.
By asking, you will have a better chance to raise more money rather than just standing there.
I also noticed that the older generation are also much more generous than the younger ones, they gave with an open heart.
Evon

I am happy that I can be involved for this flag day because it is a very meaningful thing to do,
which is something that we can’t learn in class.
I can help the elderly by donating money and using my time to go places to ask people for their donation.
And I had a lot of fun and enjoyed myself during this flag day.
Lin Min

Although is very tiring but I find that it was better than the previous flag day which is more
interesting and fun.
There are quite a lot of problems, for example we got to ask people for donation and some even ended up walking off without saying anything.
However, overall I had gained some experience from it.
Emily

I enjoyed myself a lot during this flag day than the previous one.
Maybe because we know where are the places that people will donate more :D
which came from our experience from the previous flag day.
Without experience, we will just stand at a corner waiting for people to come forward which is a waste of time as only a small people will offer their donation.
We won’t dare to open up our mouths to ask people for donation.
Mostly were the older people and some kids who came forward.
I love seeing kids coming forward to me as they were very cute which made me so happy and brightened up my day.
I have learnt that we must be polite to people whether will they donate or not we have to thank them.
At first is hard to come out from my mouth as I felt so shy but soon when I got used to it, I slowly stepped forward to people to ask them for donation and thank them.
Beside that, we also meet quite a number of interesting and funny people. Hahas!
Although is it a 8 hours of CIP, but we had fun and enjoyed ourselves.
I liked our organizer as he was friendly.
A BIG THANK YOU TO THE ORGANISER & OUR TEACHERS.
Yan Ting

To me, a band is a family; a body. If a body miss out any of the organs, it won’t be able to function as well as before. Likewise for us, to move a step closer to our goals it is not a one man’s effort. Though there are times things might not go the way as we want, but if we work together as a family, nothing is impossible. We will be able to overcome all obstacles. :) There will be many differences and flaws the majors will have, but I am sure we be able to work things out.

Last but not least, thank you for giving me this opportunity to take up this big post. I will put in my best to lead the band well.

A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless
failure may turn to glorious success.

- Elbert Hubbard

Drum major here:)

Well I would like to thank sir and teachers for believing in me and handing this post which it has huge responsibility in.

Well I an honoured to hold this post in the band and at the same time I'm very excited to work together with hsscb. I will do my best of my abilities to bring this band to greater heights. And of course, the members have to be ready to walk this journey with me and the 4 other majors in order to achieve our goal for hsscb.

With that, I wanna thank all my seniors, sirs and teachers for the awesome guide. And to my juniors and my fellow sec3 hsscb mates, let's all work towards our band motto: One Band. One Sound, One family<3

HELLO((:
Currently Yanting is updating the blog now.

Being one of the majors is tough, however the 4 of us (majors) will bring the band strive to a greater heights.

Specially thanks:
-Sir Badrul & Sir Faizal
-Teachers-in-charge
-Previous Majors [2009-2010]
-Alumni
Thanks for all the joy and the things you have taught us. Without you, there won't be us. Don't worry, the band tradition will be carried down. [:

MY THOUGHT
Being a Major won't be a easy job without the whole band members' support.
I hope you guys will co-operate and show respect to the speaker, be it sirs, the teachers or even our own members.
Although it will feel stressful holding a post, regardless of the rank, I hope to see the whole band working together towards our goals.
All of you play a part in the band, not only you play an instrument, but because you are A PART OF THE FAMILY. :)

Ass Band Major, Yanting

Last Saturday, 12 June 2010, some of our sec 2s and 3s members went for flag day. ( Singapore Heart Foundation ) As such, a few of them have wrote reflections to share about their experiences.

This is my first time doing flag day, it has been fun for me because I get to experience things such as asking people for donation for Singapore Heart Foundation. Though there were difficulties raising fund as there were many other schools students doing at the same time, but I have learnt that in order to raise as much money as we can, we need to have patience and teamwork to overcome all odds.

- Chua Xintian, 3N2

Through this flag day, I realized that the younger people of our society were not as generous as the older people who donate even though they are not wealthy. They lacked a heart of love. However, we should learn from the elderly and give our best to help the needys. Other than that, I have also learnt that it was not easy to collect money from people as you have to keep walking, asking around and people just ignored you treating like nothing had happened -- the realistic world.

- Sapol Leong, 2E1

It was my first time doing a flag day. It was boring after some time standing at the same location asking people for donation. Flag day was fun and at the same time it was tiring. It was pretty diffcult to ask for donation as there were many students doing at the same lane, thus we have to change our venue. The feeling of people treating you as transparent ain't good at all. Nevertheless, this experience taught me that we have to stay calm and keep our smile at all time.
